Karen Segboer Fine Art

About

I earned my undergrad degree many years ago in Art Education and Studio Art with a minor in Art History at Paterson State College, now William Paterson University, in Wayne, New Jersey. But after graduation, I put down my paint brush and became a civil servant. I was employed by the State of New Jersey Judiciary until I retired. It was not until then that I became interested in any kind of two dimensional art work again.

I moved to Orange County, New York, in early 2008. During a local writing workshop a few years later, I was encouraged by a fellow participant/local artist to get involved in some of the opportunities and with all of the other wonderful artists locally. This was, indeed, a turning point for me. I had almost forgotten how much I enjoyed creating this way.

I am also a published writer, have had my work appear in the NEW YORK TIMES, have had a regularly occurring column, "Orange County Diary" in ORANGE magazine, as well as many other online articles about travel, mostly about cruise travel, for the Fodor's travel guide's author.

My name is Karen Segboer. I hope you enjoy my work.
